got my first fixit ticket

i geuss i was asking for it, im the guy who PAINTED my taillights using black paint, yes they are very dark and im not suprised i got pulled over for them. however, they are clearly visible with my brakes on and my lights on at night. question is, do u think its worth it to appeal the ticket in the night/early morning so i cna have my lights??? or should i just pay the ticket and borrow my friends taillights to show the court.

thanks,
bobby

ps- i got the ticket in orange county california

Doesn't matter if the light shows through. The lens have to be reflective. By painting them, you killed the reflective aspect of them.
