Perf. Tire Package?

Perf. Tire Package?
I'm in my 50's and planning to get g35 as my mid-life crisis sportcar. If I get the 5AT model, I haven't decided whether to get the Perf. Tire package.
Is there a noticeable difference in ride and handling characteristics? Most of my driving will be commute between work and home. Not sure if it's worth it to get this package. I know cosmetically it looks nicer, but I won't be driving the car aggressively. However, if I decide to get the 6sp MT model, this package is standard.

If it's a mid-life crysis car then go all out and get the 6MT. If you get the 5AT model, here is what I can say about the 18" wheels. They make the ride stiffer and there is more road noise (the tires are noisy), but they make the car handle better. The Performance Package also gives you a Limited-Slip Differential, which is a really nice feature, also. It's really up to you, whether you want a smoother and more comfortable ride, or better handling and a more muscular appearance.

Re: Perf. Tire Package?
I'm pushing 65, have always driven performance cars and motorcycles. I guess I've always been or have never been in a mid life cirses. Guess I just like to go fast. I have a DG 6MT coupe. I got the 18" wheels, which I just sold to a fellow with a "Z", who has 17" wheels. I have sitting in my garage a set of 18" Nismo wheels (8.5" front and 9.5" back) It will run 245/40 tires front vs 224/45 and 275/45 rears vs 245/45. The car will look better and handle better. BTW I just got home from a 1700 mile trip with my wife, she was quit content in the "G". The 18s are not that harsh. If you like the look and want the better handleing - Get 'em.

Yeah, I knew it wasn't just me...the stock 245's in the rear do look a little thin, don't they?
I agree with lowrider, get the 18" wheels. Even though you don't care that much about handling right now, if you get the G35C, you will start to care...there is no way you won't realize and appreciate how tight the handling is of this car.
