anDross Oct 8, 2006 06:16 PM

G35BASTARD Oct 8, 2006 06:34 PM

why burn the tires like that?

LIUser Oct 8, 2006 06:47 PM

i dont see why people like doin these so much...

M4Gunner Oct 8, 2006 07:02 PM

ummm... cuz i was getting my new rubber mounted the next day. and why wouldnt you do that!?

i did a few 2nd gear donuts too, but we never taped them. oh well.

Good stuff. I'm getting new rubber at the end of this month and have the same on my agenda - donuts and drifts. I need someone to shoot vid.

When you do donuts, isn't it best to shift into 2nd gear? Cause you'll be less likely to hit the rev limiter if you floor it?

TURBOTOM Oct 8, 2006 07:55 PM

haha nice!

Why?

Transmission wear
U joints (plenty of em')
Clutch wear (gotta' get em' smokin')
LSD wear (big time)
Over rev (kinda have to)
Over heat (if you don't watch it)

M4Gunner Oct 8, 2006 09:10 PM

lol... i never thought id get flammed for doing donuts on the Driver! i guess ive seen it all!

...and no, I have NOT seen a man eat his own head!:D

keep in mind, this is a lease that i have NO intentions of keeping. so those things you mentioned are null and void to me.

LSD (Limited Slip Differential?) wear? How does that get affected by the donuts? The slip light comes on and then just stops functioning when you do donuts (and have turned VDC off). Could you explain what the risk is to LSD?

LSD has "wear plates" just like a clutch.

mal_TX Oct 9, 2006 10:17 AM

I thought our LSD was Viscous and thus no "wear plates" ??
