aero added at the dealer

hey guys, so I'm just about to get a G35 and here's my situation:

no dealer can locate one exactly like i want (LS/stone, 6MT, Prem.Pack, XM, Aero, navigation)..... they can find exactly that in my second choice color (DG/graphite int.) but im pretty set on the lakeshore...... anyway, Modern Infiniti in greensboro told me they can add the aero package at the dealer and i specifically made sure to ask about the rear air diffusers (cause i've read on here that some people got gyped out of those at the dealer) and he said they definitely add that as well

so if they add the spoiler AND diffusers, im cool with everything except the middle brake light that i have read on here CANT be removed.... does anybody know otherwise? ANYBODY had that thing removed?

(by the way im going to call them back today and ask about it, but i just wanted the forum opinions)

t.i.a.

Make sure you get it in writing that its the OEM nissan spoiler, not the aftermarket one. The rear light can be disconnected, and others on here have removed it as well. The dealer may refuse to take it out but its pretty simple to take it out from what I have read.

Stick it to Them

I had similar problems when i made my purchase. I was told i could not get a laser red with lakeshore interior. they told me this is not possible. I asked them why they have one on their website and why are you able to build and price it. They came back to me and said they did have some. They found one in northern cali. They told me out of all the cars comming to Cali their where only 2 and no one wanted that model. (but me) So I told them to bring it down or I will fly up their and purchase it. They brought it down and added the satilite radio antenna. All the wireing is already don from the factory all you have to do is plug it in. As far as your aero package, Im sure their is one, make them find it for you. All that money you should get exactly what you want.

Enjoy!!!

sales guy told me that he double-checked with the service guys and they DO NOT (or CANT) install the air diffusers...... so there is no available unused G that matches what i want right now...... unless i settle for DG (dont flame me, i really like DG but its my second choice)

Man i hope the 07s will be available to order soon.... after all, they're trickling out of canada already

LOL thats the biggest load of crap ive ever heard....man if that dealership is that stupid I would rather not do business with them. You can install it yourself, just tell them to give them to ya. If you really want a dealer to put it on, take them to another dealer. Seriously.....

go somewhere else. all dealers work off of the same stock info. they use a common database of all the cars in the area and if one dealer can get a particular car, they all can. these guys sound like they don't know what they are doing, or they will not accommodate you. either case, you want to stay away from them.

Hey Rob40 - I bought the 2006 base and had the spoiler added. Like you, I wanted the interior high mount brake light removed. The dealer, Modern in Winston, disconnected the light but left it installed. It comes out very easily but you have 5 or 6 cut-outs left showing in the parcel shelf. You can order a new parcel shelf that is made for the sport version (comes with the spoiler, etc.) that doesn't have the high mount connections or cut-outs but it's over $200.00.

The only issue, for me, is I haven't been able to find out if you can get the shelf without the Bose 6x9 cut outs AND without the high mount cut-outs. I didn't want the Bose system (wanted to do my own sound) so I don't have any use for the 6x9 holes.

To remove the light, just pull it back towards the rear seat the up. Very simple. Then just unhook the wiring harness. Maybe you could cover up the holes with a stuffed "Phoenix" from the Elon bookstore!

If you ever get over to W-S with your new G, give me a shout.

well they told me the exact same thing at pearson infiniti in richmond..... but now i see the post about the diffuser installation..... can anybody confirm that the diffusers can be installed? (pardon my ignorance about them, but i dont even know what the part looks like.... i guess i need to go to the dealership and look under the cars to see what it really looks like............. UNLESS, somebody has a picture for me?) if they can install the diffusers, i probably wont care about the center brake light

I did have that problem with the dealer installing the Aero Kit too. First its possible to have the air diffusers installed and I got my dealer to agree on replacing out the entire rear shelve deck with that third brake light. and not just try to fix it by disconnect the light or simply removing it and placing a plastic cover over the holes...have the whole deck replace. Just make sure to have it all in writing. And you want for the dealer to install all your parts for future legal (insurance) warranty issue.
