when i did mines, i used a rotary sander and standed it to the plastic, and that wasn't nessisary. it just made a whole lot more work. just sand off the top chrome layer. and it won't look "great" becasue i think only a shop can make it look really good, unless you have the factory black. (if your cars black)

Get some wet sand paper, sand it down till it doesnt have a "shiney" look, then clean it with alcohol or some type of prep wipe, then blow it off and paint it.

I would take it to a shop, spray paint on the front of a vehicle won't last you more than a few months at best, and all of that prep work and having to redo it again will suck. Even if a body shop sprays it, its going to get chips, spray paint will be even worse. I would also sand all the way through the chrome to the black plastic underneath so when the chips start occuring, the chrome won't show through the paint

why? nothing wrong with the chrome grill. it makes this car a luxury. if u paint it, then u are down grading ur car to a honda civic. whats next? APC stickers all over? painted brake rotors? another 'rebadge' to make the car look like something it isn't? haha.

Was it painted by a body shop or spray painted?
