06 light issue?

I'm having a problem with my "auto" setting on the headlights.
Normally, I leave the lights on auto. (Yep, I'm lazy! )
I don't mind them coming on when I go through the freeway underpass.

Just recently they have been staying on for an extended period of time.
Between tinted windows and my sunglasses, I can't see the dash for a good
5-10 min when I get back into the sun.
Is it the time of the year with the sun at my back that throws this off?
Has anyone else had issues with the lighting timer?

I have an early 06 coupe. Any feedback would be appreciated.
and yes, I take off the sunglasses...

The sensor is mounted on your dash, so if the sun is behind you enough and your roof is casting a shadow it might keep the headlights on. Try opening the sunroof shade to see if any light will hit the dash sensor. Also, there's a setting that the dealership can change for the BCM (Body Control Module) that will change the relative light level that will activate the headlights. Ask about it the next time you're visiting, but be aware that many dealerships will try to charge you to make these changes.
