Best Exhaust Note....G35 coupe

I use to think that 911 had the nicest sound, but now I think the best (stock) exhaust note is a G35 coupe.

It's very distinctive. It's mellow yet throaty, and menacing yet sophisticated. Aside from an exotic sports car, its the best sound on the road.

I'm probably preaching to the converted here, but what are your thoughts?

I'd rather listen to my coupe's exhaust note than my girlfriend's blabber when we're driving. That's why I roll down the windows all the time.

Yeah, but why are so many changing to aftermarket exhaust....I'm sure Nissan engineers spent a crap load of time developing the exhaust system--and it sound beautiful, but this is often the first thing that gets modded. WHY WHY?

I just like to roll down the windows turn off the radio and listen the music from my exhaust...bonus when I go through underpasses!

Sweet sounds..............

The factory exhaust does sound good.........but the
G and Z sound alike, time after time the same. And
Grandmas G sedan sounds like your coupe.............
After six months I was ready for a change, and yes
I'm on my third exhaust system. It's been a costly
search Stillen....Borla....and now Magnaflow with a
Fuji Y-pipe. I'm happy with my exhaust sound now,
even the lady across the street tells me she loves to
hear my G start up. It's all about having fun with our
toys!

my g apart from the many g's in my town...

When I first got my car I had everyone stand in the back so they could hear me start up the car. The car sounds so nice with just the turn of the key.

I've had other cars and have played the exhaust game...Greddy Evo was sooo nice to me with prior cars...However, I just cant get myself to even THINK about switching from the stock exhaust on my 6mt coupe...The sound is as perfect as it gets IMO...Sounds very much like an exotic...The original poster said it right...It sounds menacing yet very sophisticated and classy...The only way I ever change it is if I go FI and need to open up some restriction in the air flow...Outside of that NO CHANCE i change it...

I always LOVED the sound of the Z/G/FX. Everytime I heard one, I'd know it was one of those. When I got the car, I never wanted to lose the stock tone, so I chose my intake/exhaust mods carefully. Even though the S/C overpowers it now, you can still hear it if you're behind me

So Triple8Sol.....

What exactly do you have then? You hint at it, but don't tell?

Why not a nice exhaust that "amplifies" the sound of the stock exhaust?
