extended warranty question
extended warranty question
I did a search already...
I was wondering if anyone has gone through any third party extended warranty plans. www.theautoclub.com has a 4 year 75k mile extended warranty (kicks in when you hit 60k miles - im at 56k now) for $1250. They also have a 6 year 72k mile warranty for $1450. I remember reading that some of you were getting pretty good rates on extended warranties from grubbs infiniti, but they have yet to contact me back with some prices. Some of you were getting an extra 4 years 60k(or was it an extra 3 years 40k miles??) miles for around $1500 with no deductable? My warranty is about to run out, when you do the math, paying $300 bucks a year for the peace of mind of a warranty doesn't seem like a bad deal at all.
edit:
They have 2 coverage plants...gold and platinum
gold:
Our New and Used Universal Gold 'Listed Coverage Plus' plan provides coverage to repair or replace ANY COMPONENT listed in the following assemblies: Engine (gas or diesel), Engine (rotary), Turbo/Supercharger, Cooling System, Transmission (automatic), Transmission (manual), Transfer Unit (4x4), Drive axles, Drive Shaft, Center Support and Universal Joints, Fuel, Fuel pump (mechanical and electrical), Fuel Injection, Air Conditioning, Steering (manual and power), Brakes (non ABS), Anti-lock Brakes (ABS), Electrical, Front Suspension, Rear Suspension, Seals and Gaskets, Electronics and Vehicle Hardware Package.
platinum:
Our New Universal Platinum 'Bumper to Bumper Plus' plan provides coverage to repair or replace ANY COMPONENT (unless listed as non-covered parts and maintenance services) of your vehicle’s Engine, Transmission, Transfer Case, Front Wheel Drive, Rear Wheel Drive, Front Suspension, Rear Suspension, Front Wheel Steering, Manual Brakes, Power Brakes, Electrical, Air Conditioning, Heating, Fuel System, Cooling System, Interior Electronics, Powertrain Electronics, ABS Brakes, Convenience Accessories and Vehicle Hardware. The plan also provides coverage for optional advanced technology components like Electronic Suspension, Four-Wheel Steering, Traction Control, Memory Seating and Steering Wheel, Cellular Telephone, Keyless Entry System, Tire Pressure Monitoring System and Automatic Wiper System.
I'm going to call them on my lunch break and get more details. I need to find out if the warranty is 75k miles after you hit 60k ..or is including the 60k you already have. It would be stupid to pay that kind of money for only 15k more miles of warranty.
thanks
