Re: Joining the Club

Wow you got a 6MT w/o knowing how to drive an MT? That takes guts! Either that or you're filthy rich!
Anyway, congrats with the purchase. If you don't drive in heavy traffic you'll have a blast.

Once you get yourself confortable, then you can start going up hill. Don't try to be brave and go to San Francisco...nasty hill.

You have a blast with you car...Enjoy man

I was exactly like you..not even knowing how to drive a stick and bought the car...however, dont regret driving a MT.. I had few lessons from friends for couple hours then i just practice practice...... "Just enjoy the ride" ~~

Re: good luck

Add me to the club of virgin 6MT driving.

The G35 Coupe was my very first manual transmission car. Before that, I spent about an hour each practicing on my friend's toyota 4-runner amd Geo something.

After 5300 miles, I still sometimes stall when i pull into my driveway. Need to remember to put car in neutral...

You'll enjoy driving this car. Just be patient and don't get frustrated. there will be times where you wished you got an automatic, ie. getting beat at the light by a soccer mom or stalling in front of people crossing the street...or your car jerking as you slow the car down to check out the ladies...

be patient...the rewards far outweigh the frustration of learning something for the very first time.
