problem with my 2004 coupe

When im driving, the steering acts wierd..
first of all it drifts to the right or so if i let go..

Also, it just feels wierd. I mean its hard for me to make turns at speeds of over 60mph cuz the sterring is hard to control.
I cant really explain it but i know something is wrong with my steering control??

Re: problem with my 2004 coupe

There's a TSB out for this:

Service Bulletin Num : 03028 Date of Bulletin: ?
Type: Coupe
Component: FRONT AXLE/SUSPENSION
Summary: Steering Drift to the Right
IF YOU CONFIRM: The vehicle has a tendency for a constant drift to the right on a straight, flat road at highway speeds. NOTE: A vehicle is said to drift, if The vehicle completes a lane change in less than 7 seconds and with no steering correctionfrom the driver and when driving at 60 mph and all four wheels must pass into the other lane during this time (7 seconds) and while driving on a crown-sloped road of less than 1 percent.
ACTIONS: Verify the incident drift as described above. Install the right front suspension compression rod from the Parts Information section of this bulletin.

You should be able to go to any Infiniti dealership of your choice to fix any TSB problem.

- Don't argue with idiots. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.=P-

dude your gonna need to call the DEALERSHIP and ask them that, probably requires an appointment, the TSB comp rod install is NOT a 5 minute thing.

Re: problem with my 2004 coupe

I have the same problem with my 2004...Guy at the dealership said that "the road contours will cause teh car to drift to the right...and having 18's and the large tires will track the road good...so its not a alignment problem" I dunno..

another thing...anyone noticed on their 2004's..that around 60 mph...theres a slight hum or vibration coming from either of the front wheels? Guy at the dealerships said i have to contact the dealership where I got the car(got it from another city) and tell them to contact michelan?!

dude your dealership is just trying to avoid fixing your problems. You've gotta be firm w/ these guys and not be a pushover. Tell them that this is a common TSB problem and that if they don't fix it, you wanna see their manager or threaten to contact Infiniti Corp and act hella pissed while saying it.

Yeah, you guys should take it into the dealer. It's a defect! :-) hee hee. Well, not really a defect but something that they are already aware of.
I have a 04 coupe and I don't notice any weird humming sounds from the front tires. Everything sounds good on mine! :-)

The Michelin Pilot Sports are kind of on the noisy side so maybe that's what the sound could be. But hey, u give up a little luxury for insane grip. =)

Re: problem with my 2004 coupe

i think my 04 6mtC has drift to the right syndrome.

called dealership, get along well with them. told them also of hot air leaking in from battery area. someone posted fix using caulk. told him about that, will also mail him detailed instructions on fix. when i bring car in, will have them do that too.

don't think they'll fight me.

Re: problem with my 2004 coupe

I have a strange vibration, thrumming noise at around 60 mph, that appears to be coming from the front wheels. Have you figured out what it is? My car tracks striaght and the steering wheel does not shake, so I do not believe that it is a balance problem.

I have a 2003 Coupe 6mt

Re: problem with my 2004 coupe

I took mine in today for the first service and mentioned the pull. After some initial resistence they looked up the TSB which I printed out from here (thanks) and did the repair. I have a '04 AT so apparently the problem wasn't resolved in the new production. Just a heads up to anyone else with this problem. Ramsey's service is surprisingly better than their sales. Still below average imo, but thats miles ahead of the sales team. Oh, and they shammy dried the car after washing and put swirl scratches all over it. Now I need to wash it again so I can wax it. :-\

Re: problem with my 2004 coupe

Do NOT let the dealership wash your G!!! They will give you some push back like "we don't use an automatic car wash, and carefully hand dry it...". I then ask, "will you spend 4 hours washing and detailing it?? If not, then you will not being doing as good a job as I do..." Do you think the dealership even uses 100% cotton towels to dry it?? Hell no!
