RECEIVED NEW RIMS...please help answer a few questions

Finally, got my winter setup, it's the STERN ST-5 in gloss black.
I'm not trying to be too **** or picky...but is it NORMAL to receive rims with very minor knicks to the lips? After daily driving, I'm assuming the lip will take alot of abuse from road debris, so sooner or later knicks to the lips are expected, correct? (This is my first set of rims that actually has lips, so I'm inexperienced )

In additional, I wanted to get these wheels on asap, is it recommened that I have them brought to the dealer, or just any local auto shop can get the job done? The dealer said it's gonna be a 2-3h job with a $45 charge...for them to balance and blah blah...dunno if they're just feeding me load of crap

When i purchased these rims and tires the shop said they'll have it mounted and balanced before shipping, in that case, do i still need to have them balanced again by the dealers?

I know these may sound like really stupid questions...but i'd appreciate any help that can given...thank you

Post pics of the nicks etc. Do you they appear to be caused by the shipping or are they actual manufacturing defects? A good company usually applies tape to the lips to preven damage, so I'm not sure if this is the case. If you order wheels and tires and they came mounted and balanced, no need to rebalance, just put them on yourself and screw the dealer
