New here, pondering on getting one used or new....

Hello, new here......

I think you may have answered some similar threads to this a while back.

Well, I've started browsing this forum lately, as I am seriously shopping around for one. G35 6MT. (No automatics )

As I live in a state where DOT goes salt happy during the wintertime, I'm thinking about the G just being a summer car. Also, summer tires and RWD don't mix in snow and icy roads. (I was swapping summer/snow tires every season on my camry, but don't do that anymore, as it is a pain in the ****)

1. I don't have a fully enclosed garage, just a carport. - My point, it will get scratched or dinged or pooped on, no matter how I store it.

2. I already have a Camry as a daily driver that is already paid for. I got it brand new back in 03 and so far it has been very reliable. - My point, don't want to sell it, as it is a reliable FWD car and so far it has served me well.

3. I am very **** about car scratches and chips - My point, I'll probably pull my hair out if I get scratches on a brand new G. I am thinking getting one used with few scratches so it will not make me as ****. My camry was spotless, but idiot with a dog chain walking next to it, and dump trucks spraying gravel on the freeway has made a lot of fine scratches and chips.

After all, it is a car, it will get scratched, right?

4. From the other co-workers I talked to, having two cars (automatic and a manual) is not good, as you tend to drive the automatic more, as it is more comfortable and relaxing when you go run errands and whanot.

So, I am in a conundrum. New, Used (maybe 05 or 06) or not at all..... 08 will be a full facelift, so that is also tempting....... Damit choices choices......

If I do get one, I won't finance it with crappy interest rates. Pay for it in full up front...... I hate buying things that I really don't need especailly if I can't afford one up front.

Any opinions?
