PICS of new mods...(DUNLOP M3, STERN ST-5, PIAA LEDs)
PICS of new mods...(DUNLOP M3, STERN ST-5, PIAA LEDs)
Just got my rims and tires last week, had them put on just on the past SAT.
First 2 pics shows the door step light (blue 9-LED units that i bought off ebay, they're not piaa). The cleareance strips and side marker lights are piaa leds. The side marker bulbs are the PIAA HIGH INTENSITY 2-LED units, and they look ALOT brighter and a bit blue-ish on camera than they actually are, so don't trust my pics. (They are pure white in color but are really not that bright in person, so I'll be switching them out with PIAA XTREME WHITE 6-LED units. Hopefully the result will be alot better)
The clearance strip were installed with PIAA SUPER TERA 6500k bulbs. These are the first aftermarket bulbs I've tried on my clearance strip, so I can only make comparisons with the stock bulbs and not other piaa bulbs. Compare to the stock bulbs the TERA 6500k is definitely brighter, but I was a bit disappointed cus I thought they would be blinding bright lol, since they were very very pricy
. Regardless, they were bright enough to light up the entire strip from top to bottom. However, instead of the sky blue hue that are shown in my pics, these TERA 6500k actually fades from white to slight violet/purple hue. Again, my camera is lying about the color, in person, you can actually detect a bit of violet/purple-ish hue near the bottom of the clearance stips. I can still see the clearance strips with low beam on, but after about 25-30 feet distance, clearance stips starts to blur in with the low beam. I'd probably recommend the TERA 4500k bulbs for better match with our stock lights, cus the color temperature of 6500k is just way off in my eyes.
The rims are 18's with 225/45 and 245/45 Dunlop M3's. Offsets are 20 in front and 25 in rear. Offsets looks perfect to me, no where as tucked in as the stock rims. I could not be happier with how flush they sit under the fenders. Although it's even more apparent now that I need a drop
. I'd probably go with the TEIN H.Tech for the Z, since I'm just looking for something conservative.
Enjoy the pics, and thanks for looking!! (sorry 'bout the long post
