Stainless braided brake lines

I am changing out my OEM pads and front rotors (40,000 miles) for some AP slotted rotors and Axxis Deluxe Plus pads. I am considering changing the OEM brake lines at the same time. For you who have gone to aftermaket brakes but kept OEM size rotors and upgraded pads, is there a downside to keeping the OEM brake lines? I do not track the car, and would upgrade brake fluid also. Thanks.

Why would you upgrade the brake fluid? You are just raising the boiling point, and if you are not going to the track, you will never come close to it in DOT3

Upgrading the lines to stainless steel will give you improved pedal feel, so it would still have it's advantages even if you didn't track the car

Yeah there really is no need to upgrade your brake fluid to DOT 4 (assuming thats what you meant). DOT 4 type fluids tend to need to be replaced more often, as they absorb moisture quicker than DOT 3. DOT 3 is more than enough for the street. You should just flush out your current fluid for fresh, good quality DOT 3.

When I so SS lines, I always recommend a nice fluid to go with it. Since you have the bleed the old one anyway. I use ATE Super Blue, its a good street/track fluid.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll stay with the DOT3 and get the SS lines.
