Non-refundable orders only now?

Non-refundable orders only now?
Here's one: I ordered my G35 Coupe this morning. Prior to ordering it was volunteered to me that the order deposit was refundable "because we'll definitely be able to sell it." At the time I phoned over my credit card digits I again confirmed that it was refundable. Then this afternoon I get another call that they're only accepting orders now if they're non-refundable. "Apparently it's a new thing," my kinda cute salesgirl tells me. I told her to go screw, except it came out sounding like "I'll call you back tomorrow."
Is that legit? I find that difficult to swallow given that they won't even commit to any approximate delivery time. What am I supposed to do then, keep waiting even when the '04s are out?

Re: Non-refundable orders only now?
Happy ending to this story: I was so ticked that I called every Infiniti dealer in a 250 mile radius to get a refundable order. First two dealers hemmed and hawed on the non-refundable issue (second one I just hung up on), but finally one had *exactly* the car I was looking for rolling in just that morning. Got my deposit down immediately. Done deal. Now I just need to find someone willing to give me a ride 120 miles away. Should only take about an hour to get back though.
I'm still perplexed though. Has it gotten to the point where the local dealers are trying to lock people into non-refundable orders rather than bring cars over from other dealers, to maximize their cut? Not cool. If you're still out there on the market, make sure you check everyone's inventory yourself, don't rely on the first dealer you pull up to to find it. Also, if you're in the New England area, Infiniti of Norwood gave me the straightest answers of all the dealers, even though they don't sound as smooth over the phone.
