Re: Warranty void w/ Aftermarket Audio System?
A vehicles warrenty has many stages and areas. When you state will it void my cars warranty, gennerally speaking in whole - never, unless you've gone over the miles or years allocated for the warrenty period.
The esaiest thing to remember and what most all dealerships follow is, a dealers service center has to prove without reasonable doub't that whatever went wrong with your car, part, accessories or whatever - is in DIRECT result of what you changed, modified, or installed. If they can prove that, then that specific warranty may and can be voided.
Now you want to install an amp, ok you do and month later your dash lights go out. Nothing to do with your amp install, so it will be covered and repalced / repaired, but lets say it was your cars alternator that went dead on. Your barrety wiped out, nothings working, well that's when they can turn the cards agianst you and claim the amp was pulling too much power and its the reason why this happen.
Can it happen, sure, will it, probably not, but you have to take that into consideration. You have to sit and work out the "what ifs" and if you can live with the end results, then you really shouldnt have much to worry about.

OK HERES MY PROBLEM.... ever since I got my system in the back of my car.. I here this clicking noise when I accelerate and when I stop suddenly... it sounds soo bad... Also, when my sub level is on a good thump... there is this rattling going on under the car taht i cant pinpoint... I think the clicking noise and the rattling are inter-related... what do you suggest I do? Leave the box and amp in there, and take into the dealer and show them the problem... or take the amp and sub out, hide the wires, and show them the problem ?

Re: Warranty void w/ Aftermarket Audio System?
Well you really need to figure out what kind of sound it is your exactly hearing?
By clicking do you mean, a clicking noise through the sound system or is it more of a physical noise coming through the car? Sounds like you may have left a tool in the trunk or somewhere, if the sound only happens when you accelerate and stop (hence the abrupt movement of the car).
As for the rattling, the G's been known to have a few rattle problems, some of which are and can be taken care of by the dealer (TSB's). My suggestion to you is to take everything you installed out. No need to disconect the amp wires/rca's and whatnot. Just get everything and go for a drive. Listen and note what you hear. If the noise goes away, well then you've narrowed down your search. If it doesn't....
Look everywhere you worked in, whether it be inside the car, or under the hood, to see if maybe you left a screw driver or a pair of pliers someplace (as that oftens happens), which could be the culprict.
Lastly, does your car make that rattling without the sub firing away? If so, take it and have your dealer take a look at it. They have a fix for the rear deck rattle, but generally speaking, dropping in a sub in such a car, you will get some rattling, unless you take the time to Dynamat everything inside the car.

I just got my car back from the dealership. There was a clicking noise on my back right suspension. I got a call back from the service manager. He said that For some reason there is a clicking noise that happens on alot of G35's in between 10,000-15,000 miles. He said it is of no concern but they cannt replace the suspension because it could just make clicking noise in another 10,000 miles. They said Infiniti is investigating this and will get back once they have a solution. NO TSB HAS BEEN PUT OUT ON THIS, but the manager said there will be soon. Just giving you guys a heads up.
