oil can get on the MAF

oil on MAF = bad

amsoil = no oil

no oil = good

thus, we can conclude

amsoil = good

Just changed out my K&N that came with the Stillen Intake for a AEM Dryflow. So far, so good.

I just use the oem Japanese filters. I get 'em relatively cheap and just change them every 10k. Can't beat oem for filtration capability when new I always feel like cleaning any aftermarket air filter can disruput the filtering media.. just my $0.02

Oil can migrate to the air flow sensor. And not everyone puts the correct amount of oil on the filter. Sometimes too much or too little. Some 'internet' tests show K&N passes too much dirt, although no one really knows how much is too much.
Both Amsoil and AEM have fiber technology filters which can be cleaned and reused, and don't need oil.
Only Amsoil makes a panel filter for the stock one. It's 'EAA74'.
AEM makes a variety of conical filters for after market air intakes.
The graphs at AEM are impressive but of course some think it's biased even though testing was done by a independent lab. I would like to see Nissan Sport do a test like they did with the plenums.
If I was using OEM type only I would also use Purolator.

So you're saying Purolator is the best filter for a stock intake? Or is Amsoil better?

What kind of conical filter comes with the Stillen HFA? Is it an oiled K&N, or can you use something that's "wash and wear"?
