Dealer sold my G i put money down on!
These rat bastards sold my G even tho i put 100 dollars to hold while i apply for a loan to get this car!
i got an email and the link for the car on the website showed the car is no longer available.
Long story short, i called the guy up and he said he was able to do this, it was legal for him to get a better deal if he felt like it was he could sell it? I mean i dont get it what is the point of putting money down on a car and not get it to hold? I thouhgt it was like table reservations... u call.. give ur name and time do be there and they hold it for u.
Kinda got me mad.. also made me realize that the G is a big expensive for me even tho i can afford a new 06 Gcoupe i will be looking at the 07 350z.
How do u guys feel about the 350z?

Unless you have a signed sales contract, the car is not yours. Furthermore, you didn't even have the financing arranged so how did you expect to buy the car? Everytime I've bought a car, I've always given at least a $1,000 deposit and I usually return within 24hrs with a check in hand.
The next time you really want to hold the car, sign the purchase contract and write in "Subject to financing." This gives you an out just in case you can't get the money. Also, only giving a $100 deposit isn't going to hold a car for you. If someone like me walks in with the funds available to buy it right on the spot, of course the salesman is going to sell it to me.

yeah forreal $100 is a joke, the salesman prolly pocketed that and then banked on screwing you over... they cannot legally sell the car if you have signed the pending sale contract thingy with a REAL deposit
that's how i got my car, some dumb@ss put a hold on my car without a deposit and i was like did he give u a deposit and sign anything.. they guy said no, so i told him im buying it right now with cash and that other dude is SOL

i don't know what state you live in, but what the salesman did is technically a breach of contract. first thing you learn in contract law is that a contract is an agreement (for sale or service) substantiated with a tranfer of consideration. consideration being money (any amount). the amount doesn't matter. many contracts are written with $1/year lease to make sure squatters rights are not acted upon. you have a verbal contract with an exchange of money.
tough to prove in a court of law, but i would trying bringing the idea of this actionable matter up to the general manager of the dealership (and maybe even mention a lawyer). they may be motivated to do their best to get you another car asap, maybe even for a better deal.

ya, it sucks but what everyones saying is true... 100 on a 35,000 car is not sayin much, usually 1500 down and theyll hold it for you. either way if you were told a 100 would hold the car or the day then i think its pretty messed up.
out of curiosity what car was it, specs year?
350z is a nice car, but it doesnt have the back seat or the class the G has IMO

my store will hold a car regardless if its a 100 bucks or 10000 bucks...obviosly we hate doing it for a 100 and usually push for a minium of 500, but if the customer insist on only 100 we will not sell the car.
