Genuine vs. Fake [Mostly for Newbies]
Okay Fellas this one is mostly for Nuub's, but others have had questions regarding this topic and I have a great example to share:
**This pertains more towards the NISMO brand, but can possibly adhere to others as well?**
Ok...How do you determine that your newly purchase NISMO product is true and genuine and not a 'knock off'?
First, NISMO will "brand" there product [mainly body kit pieces] with their logo and some fancy numbers to which I have no clue what they mean. Maybe the # that the particular piece is on the production run and which factory produced it? Probably all sorts of data are contained within the numering schema. Take a look at the picture of my rear diffuser below. NOTE..this is the INSIDE of the diffuser and not the exterior.
The other pic shows a cardboard backing from my new license frame. It's on the car now, so I can get pictures of that later. Either way, notice the "Genuine Nissan Part" sentencing and the official Nismo logo.
My other license plate that I purchased was/is a knock off. The website stated that it was a genuine part. It has the Nismo logo on the frame itself BUT does not show anywhere else in the packaging. You can really tell that the "NISMO" doesn't look quite right anyways. Check out how DULL the lettering is compared to my diffuser "NISMO". The "N" and "M" 's in particular. The true Nismo has NICHES on those letters, the other knock off is more blurred and doesn't contain those.
**EDIT**
Reviewing my own thread, I noticed that the knock off license plate says "Made in the USA". HEY! That would be a great clue that it's not true Nismo. LMAO!!
Hope this helps!?

^^^Good info...thanks.
Sometimes you forget all the knock-offs there are, especially on Ebay.
I personally, only buy from the Companies or reputable distributors.
FYI: there was or still is a knock off on Tein Springs.
So beware of those too.
