Can You Take Off The Stock Plenum, And Polish It?

CAN YOU TAKE OFF THE STOCK PLENUM, AND POLISH IT?


HOW WOULD IT LOOK, IS THERE ANY REASON WHY I SHOULD NOT DO THIS?

That would be a mistake. Polishing the inside will cause the flow of air to be turbulent as it resonates against the polished surface. The matte finish created by the cast is perfect. In castings that produce a smooth surface, bead blasting is used to rough it a little.

go for it... if u have a polishing wheel and the right type of polish it shouldnt take too long... u might want to find a place that will sandblast it for u first to make the process a little easier

Had mine polished - - fantastic finish!!! Pics tomorrow. Not sure, though, I follow the "disruption of air flow" comment... In fact, my Performance Shop recommended I have it polished.

i did it.






took about 3 weeks! basically working on it a several hours a day. but a shop could do it much faster.

I have one for sale but Cutiewolf has first dibs. I think the guys at S&L charge about $125 or so to polish the stock upper plenum.
