GT-R is just a model..
also, when i was reading through leftlane news, couple things intrigued me (sorry a lil off topic).
1. 07 Z gets the new engine (same as the 07 G35 sedan). according to the news, by 09 they will have a redesigned Z with "considerably" more performance than today's model. i wonder how that will turn out and if the 08G35 will get that "considerably" more power/performance since that will be the all new redsigned model. however, i would think the 08 prob will just get the same engine as the 07 sedan with 306hp.
2. they have a honda coupe concept, looks kinda interesting and should give the "new" altima coupe a run for its money!! of course, not the class i'll be considering but still kinda interesting to look at!

Nope. M3 shares way more parts and model reconigntion than the GTR will with the G coupe. The GTR isn't related to the G coupe anymore than any other Nissan/Infiniti that uses the FM platform.

BMW M is a "series". there is M3, M5, M6.. not just one model of M3.
Yes, nissan has Nismo, but what i meant was creating another letter/name for a high performance dep just for Infiniti! i mean, Toyota has TRD, but why would lexus owners want to use the same name as Toyota? maybe thats why they coming out with a new "series".. be it F_ or whatever it may be.
Yes there is no Infiniti in Japan, but they also didnt have Lexus in Japan until now.

to take this further ... Audi, BMW, Merc also have more than a handful of dedicated aftermarket turners .... not as many for the Infiniti... I guess NISMO stands out... but no others are as prominently famous.
Audi has gone a step forward and not only have the 'S' but the 'RS' models all made in house add that up with the numerous aftermarket tuners!!...
Its high time Infiniti/Nissan do something like that.
GTR is specific to only one model... all models need to have a sport version. Like how Nissan is doing it with Altima SE-R and Sentra SE-R.
Infiniti should have one too for its G, M, FX, Q models range.
