Racing seats, Airbag issue discussion
The purpose to this thread is to find out how we can sub out racing seats for our stockies and still maintain front airbags. Being that we can save near 100lbs just by changing seats, this is definately something to look into.
If you change the driver seat you lose the side airbag sensor and thusly all airbags are lost.
We need to find out:
How can we install seats and maintain this airbag?
Is there anyway to fool the sensor?
I honestly don't want to be a test pilot, digging around in expensive wiring and airbags doesn't feel right. Driving to work everyday without airbags is a huge safety concern, and is not worth the weight/look benefits.
If you have any information regarding this please post here. Lets try to keep this informative.
Thanks alot guys.

From what I've read Nismo has a part that you plug into the seat's harness wen you change the seat and it will keep functionality of your remaining front airbags (you lose the side airbags). If you install without this or something similar, you will have the airbag light on. I also remember seeing a diagram for making your own somewhere.

But how do we know that this is just removes the light?
Is it possible that the airbags will not work, even though the light is gone? How can we know for sure?
I know that you would assume that this would make the airbags work. But in the case of my passengers and my own safety. Being cautious is manditory.

do a search... 50 dollars for a nismo resistor or .95 cent resistor from radio shack. airbags will not go off if the light is on, when the light is off the airbags will be activated.
