new g35 driver

been hovering this forum lately and good amount of information. just got a 2007 OB 6MT coupe. switched over from an RSX being totalled and dropped the insurance check on the G. i love the car so far and a big step up from the RSX. but can't really compare since they're two diff classes.

but i had a few questions about the G:

-is it just me or are the HID's particularly yellow on the 07? they don't compare to the white/blue flicker and output color of the TL, BMW, AUDI HID's. hate to put it this way but they look like the sonata's projector output. do the bulbs need to break in or something? or should i upgrade the bulbs?

-i got the AVIC-D2 from my RSX and want to put it in the G. the problem is, will i lose the bluetooth feature or is it independent of the stock radio? also, the steering wheel controls can't be integrated withe the D2 i assume?

the projectors aren't like the tl, bmw, or audi. something about the projector itself that won't give the flickering effect as the cars you mentioned. stock bulbs will give you a yellowish color because they have a color temperature of 4300k. if you want a white light with a hint of blue, go with 6000k bulbs. most people would say use phillips ultinons. to me they are nice, but way overpriced. i got some no name brand off of ebay, get price and looks better than the phillips, imo. but be careful with ebay, quality is really a risk when you buy off ebay.

you can put the avic-d2 in your car, but you will lose the bluetooth feature. for steering wheeling controls, you can get the swi-ps from pac audio to keep your steering wheel controls. i would go with another unit though. i believe the d2 is a flip out unit, correct? a flip out would just cheapen the look of your interior because of the location of the headunit. i would recommend a double din unit such as the avic-z1.

damn that sucks, i like the bluetooth. makes me feel all executive lol. the D2 is a double din. the flip outs are the N series.

what's this that i hear about a recall on the 06/07 projectors? 4300K HID's are supposed to be pure white, not about as yellow as a halogen bulb is..since that's how the color of mine are. all OEM HID's are 4300K but i just don't get why the G is yellowy while others have a nice white/blue color.

congrats bro, i moved up to a G coupe from an RSX too... only mine is a used 2004. it's definitely a step up from the RSX... my only gripe is the interior on the RSX is better quality and the location of all the controls were perfect.
