Question Overheating ?? ((UPDATE))

was driving the coupe today, and the overheating display appeared on the navi, as well as the check engine light. Luckily i was a minute from home.

Im guessing the radiator anitfreeze is low or theres a leak?...

Anyone else have any ideas??

Thanks ahead of time

What did your temperature gauge indicate? Stuck thermostat, loose belts, broken water pump impelers, blown head gasket, wrong ignition timing, clogged radiator, blocked air flow thru radiator are all causes for overheating. Start by process of elimination and narrow it down.

What Mr GEE said^^^
Heck if it was me I'd be checking it out immeadiately. How is the level in your rad, is it low. That is the first place to look.

Wow, you are very lucky this happened right by your house. Keep us updated on what caused the leak. Good luck with the fix.

Don't ever open your radiator cap will the car is still hot. Unless you want to see something similar to a volcano right in your driveway.

Did you have your Radiator replaced recently or did you refill it? Remember that there is an air relief plug on the heater hose. You might have more air than coolant in your rad in which case your engine will overheat.

I wonder how hard it'd be do head gaskets on a VQ motor yourself.... assuming you had a garage.
