General Question to all
So i was thinking, if car companys are so big on getting the most cutting edge car out with all the cool toys. Why hasnt any car company come out with a way to eliminate BLIND SPOTS when your driving.I feel that it is a very critical aspect of everyday driving. I mean you can purchase the add- on mirrors but cant a car company just make something stock. Maybe even side camera's ?(kinda expensive) Just a thought. This was a bit off topic but i am curious to what you guys think.

Haha! Now you're giving me a chance to show my age. These were very popular years ago. I mean, everybody had them. This product will eliminate the blind spots, however, you'd have to replace your existing one. Which means that you'd lose the Homelink, etc. Heres the link;

Re: General Question to all
I think it is Audi who has a car called the safe car, which has tried to eliminate the blind spots. It is their test car for safety features. The A pillars have triangular pieces of plexy glass all the down in which you can see through. The have similar features like that throughout the car. They have a different seat belt configuration and some other things.

Re: General Question to all
Are you sure it wasn't Volvo? They tend to be the "safety" people, and they recently premiered a "safety technology" car that represented about $30M in R&D. See-through pillars, serious anti-roll, biometric locks, racing seat belt confiurations, etc. etc. etc.

Re: General Question to all
You know what I would like? Rear-view camera in the bumper of my car. I am always so afraid of hitting something behind me...I use my mirrors and look behind me to back up, but you really just don't know how close the rear of your car is unless you have some kind of rear-mounted camera pointing downwards, looking at your rear bumper. Also, I find the G35C kind of a hard car to parallel park. I feel like I never know how close to the curb I am, and I am always afraid of scratching my rims, so I end up parking like a foot away from the curb. Something to help me out with that would be nice....

Lots of up-scale cars have a 'sonar' unit at the rear to assist in backing up. Some can be set to a pre-determined distance before they sound a warning. This is better than a single lens view with its poor depth perception.

You need curb feelers. They were popular in the 1950s and 1960s......ugh.
