Injen Cai

Hey guys,

for those of you with the Injen Cai, do you have any problems with the rain getting into the filter since it sits so low (next to the cage)?

I need to know asap, thanks

I've driven 12,000 miles on mine.. no problems what so ever.. when it starts to rain just take it easy.. no hard launches make everything nice and smooth and keep your speed down.. you'll be ok no raod rage either if you accelerate hard then yea.. your suckin water

i have gone 50 thousand miles on mine give or take and no problems yet. I live in florida also so it rains alot. Just as long as you dont drive in any puddles that are 12 inches or more you should be fine. If you are worried i would buy a AEM bypass valve. This will just go inbetween the pipeing and if the other filter gets clogged it will suck air in through the bypass valve.

Yes, just use it short ram style, dont use the lower tubing that goes into the lower bumper area, instead just attach the filter at the mid section.

this may sound crazy but I cut 4 in. off of the bottom end of the pipe which brought the filter up some more into the body and I bought the water resistent sock that they are selling to cover the filter with all of this I now drive pretty secure
before doing this though I had driven prob 10k miles through some rough rain as well and have not had a problem, of course I had a stainless steel deflector I was using in front of the filter at the time

I was a little worried that cutting 4" off of the end might cause some air turbulences but so far I have not noticed any decrease in drivability

I've had mine for 2 years now and I haven't had issues with it. I've even driven hard in full on rain storms (full throttle and all that...) and no problems to report. Although I do have a heat shield that covers my filter from being hit by rain directly.

Had mine ever since I bought the car..... changed it for Stillen CAI though....

Never had a problem with water.... I live here in Florida
If it rains alot where you live though you may have to clean it alot. I remember when I cleaned my intake after about 5000 miles I had soo much mud on it (Dirt + Water) since it sits low and is exposed.

But every time I clean the filter its a night and day difference .... Like adding a mod every the time...

by doing this short ram, will the performance remain the same from what little to no hp it offers now?
lol
