Question Stalling after start

I have an 03 coupe AT, 88k miles. Never had any real problems with it(bought it a year old), but for the past 5k or so miles, it's been stalling after turning the ignition. It'll turn on, start to idle, then just die. This only happens about half the time. The other half, it starts fine. Took it in for transmission service somewhere else, and they said it could be something with the throttle wire that the dealer has to look at. Old battery just died, and I thought the new one might fix it, but it did it again. Supposed to take it in tomorrow, but thought maybe it's happened to someone else, and I could know what's going on before takign it in. Thanks for any replies...

i think it's either you need a new throttle body, throttle position sensor, or you need to clean your throttle body...since your warranty is probably up try cleaning your throttle body

first...since you have no check engine light my guess is a dirty throttle body...and check if your maf is dirty too...

Check you TPS sensor. or simply take it to the dealer and if you don't have a warranty then pay them 80.00 diagnostics fee and they will tell you.

This happened to me a few times a long time ago. All it was was air filter oil on the MAF.

Clean the IACV (Idle Air Control Valve) and the throttle body with throttle body cleaner and rubbing alcohol. Don't soak though since this is an electrical component.

I usually clean them with qtips.

Clean the sensor that worked for me. I was having the same issue. Mine started doing that after I cleaned my K&N filter one afternoon. So I cleaned the oil off the end of the sensor with cleaner and now I crank up fine.

We actually have a volentary recall on the fuel lines. Never seen one for the fuel pumps. All that it was is a leak can occur and splash fuel on the motor. According to infiniti there was 0 risk of combustion and its pretty obvious if your leaking fuel, so I never had it done.

I have the same issue. Could anyone tell me where the MAF Is? Is it in the Air intake tube? Also where is the Throttle Body? Is it easy to get to? Easy to clean?

Thanks for the advice.

^The MAF is about halfway between the air filter box and the throttle body. You will see an electrical plug that plugs into the intake, the MAF is inside of the tubing. Check the throttle body as well, if there is a lot of build up surrounding the butterfly then that can cause problems too.

The throttle body is directly connected to the intake plenum (The large metal thing under the engine cover). Simply remove the four bolts, tiny coolant hoses, and electrical plug to remove the throttle body. Its somewhat easy to clean just be careful when handling the butterfly (the round metal piece the moves inside of it).

You need to get a repair manual

I don't know about the MAF, but I use engine cleaner on the TB.

One of the many grounding points on the car may not be connected fully. For the grounding, you will see wires that lead to nothing, they will be screwed to the chassis and engine in multiple places. Check and make sure these wires are screwed down tightly and that none are broken.

Update: I cleaned my MAF with MAF cleaner and Also replaced my Air filter. NOTE: My MAF was not dirty at all, but I decided to clean it anyway. The car still will drop RPMs Almost to Stalling point when I start the car and the engine is already warmed up.

Im assuming that since the MAF is not dirty that the Throttle Body wont be dirty either so I did not bother taking the whole intake off to clean the throttle body.

Where are the main "grounding Points " located?

^Check the throttle body because they do become dirty easily and build-up can cause the engine to stall. If that doesn't work then I'm not sure what the problem is..
