Bad body shop experience...help
My friend recentley dropped his car off at the body shop before going out of town to france. He came back last night and his parents had already picked it up and braught it home. When he got home it was late and he didnt look at it...today he woke up and went to look at it and they did an extremely **** poor job on it. The panels that they were supposed to fix they did, but they are not alligned with the body correctly and are still partially bent at the corners. The paint is fine, but the body panels are still messed up. He called them today and informed them of the situation and they told him that they will not take it back they also said they could not fix it so they fixed what they could and put it back on.....what is that crap?
What can we do when we go there tomarrow. Is there any laws or anything that we can inform them about that will back us up? Any adivce would be great!

Well take some of my advice. If he paid the job with a credit card, call the card company, tell them the situation, they should put a stop payment and return the money back to your account untill the problem is resolved. If that doesnt work out tell them you'll report them to BBB and if they still dont take care of it, take them to court.

Body shop jerks................
Trying to get something across over the phone isn't the right way to handle
this kind of problem. Take them the car and point out the areas of misalignment and tell them you want them to fix it.......don't back down.
You paid good $ for the job to be done correctly and that's what you should
get........you don't have to be a jerk.....you know good paint but could you
align these panels better?

don't call the police for an issue with the bodyshop. they'll just laugh at you, and wonder why you are such a girlie-man.
try to work it out with them first. if your friend paid to have them fix everything, they are obligated to fix it back to OEM condition. If they won't work with you, put pressure on them with the better business bureau (like mentioned), and also try your state's attorney general's office. you can finally pursue a lawsuit, but that should be your last resort, and only if your friend wants to win in the land of principle. He sure won't be gaining anything out of it.

We wanted to go to stirling body shop, but the kid didnt want to fork over the money to do it and paid a not so reputable shop to fix it.
Take it to a different , but this time, reputable bodyshop. Get a quote from them on how much it would cost to fix it back to OEM spec. Then take it to the idiot who did the work on your car, and if he is not willing to fix it properly himself, offer him to pay for the quote. Thats a good deal if you ask me.

I'm a service manager in DC. Just talk to the owner of the shop and see what he could do for you. Talk to him face to face. I'm guessing your friend paid with cash, which is the worst way to make payment. Always pay with a credit card so that you dont have to go through with all these bs. If they see a fault they will take care of it. If cash was involved, I'm pretty sure you have to goto small claims court.
