Warning light scared me sh!!!tless

I got my G35 coupe brand new at the end of October. It's got 2300 miles on it so I haven't gone in for any services or checkups. After reading all the oil consumption problems from some of you guys, it's always been in the back of my mind, so I check my oil level frequently (I'd say I've gone from a white to a brown belt in maneuvering that dip stick!)

Yesterday morning, I was driving to work, and this warning light came on. I looked at it, a bit @ss "!" inside what looks like a harp. I had no idea what it is, but OIL CONSUMPTION were the first words to come to my mind!!! As you can imagine, I'm going bezerk in my mind thinking about all the **** I'll have to go through to get a new engine and all the back-and-forth between me and a team of sly salesmen at the dealership that is forthcoming. First thing I do after getting to the office is look up the warning light in the manual.

IT'S THE FUQING TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR!!! Phew, I'm relieved. Later, I found out the tires are at 30 PSI, should be at 35. That's pretty annoying considering 30 ain't bad. I hope the light comes on at 25. There are some bumpy roads I drive on so it'll be a pain watching that light come on every 3 months or so. Still, I'm just glad it's not the engine

Well monitor the pressure because you might have a nail or glass wedged in there.

oh, you silly n00bs.

juuust kidding

i remember when i changed to my snow tires/wheels, and after driving for about 45 miles, a light popped on where a light has never popped on before, and i freaked for a bit. and then i realized that it was just the TPM light, and i calmed down cause i had read before that my ****ty wheel/tires may or may not make the light come on.

I felt dumb afterwards too, but they make the thing look like a ******* harp! Not until after I read the manual did I say "Ohhhhh, it's a semi-deflated tire!".

Thanks for the advice LjN_728. I figured since all 4 tires had the same pressure, there shouldn't be any punctures. Oh, and after I pumped up the tires, the light didn't go off for 5 good minutes!

i had the same reaction when it appeared on my car for the 1st time. It happened on mine because of the temp. dropped one night and it was freezing so i guess that brought the PSI down a bit.
