d2s bulbs

Where can i find them? I also have a question regarding the ones you see on ebay. They are from a no name brand or i think at least. Are those worth it? Sound i just stick with phillips, xenon, hella, orasm brands

Re: d2s bulbs

The majority of these "no name" or brand X's companies do not actually produce their own bulbs, as its too costly. They do in fact purchase them from such companies such as Osram and Philips and so on. They're able to offer them cheaper for several reasons. One, often these purchased bulbs are what they call B-Stock items. Sometimes due to wrong packaging and or mislabeled items, companies like Philips are forced to liquidate these items dirt cheap. There's nothing wrong with the actual product, but rather a misprint and or a slight blem on the packaging. These "no name" companies buy em, place their own tags and or packaging, and wa-la, they have their own bulb at half the price! Second, sometimes a simple overstock of bulbs are on hand, and they're once again sold cheap to clear shelf space.

The only drawback or worry you should have from buying from these "no name" people is not so much if the product will work or is of good quality, but rather if the companies gonna be around to back up and warranty and or service claims you may have in the years to come, as these types of companies come and go quickly.

Re: d2s bulbs

Now me question is if you would so kindly go on ebay and type in d2s or d2s bulb and you will see some cheap bulbs..... Let me know are they worth it... im still kinda skeptical and i dont want to send cash on faulty things.... Since you are the better and more knowledgeable person i would like it if you browse at it. Re: d2s bulbs

also with higher K bulbs, you get a more purplish color but it reduces visability. There is really no point of swapping to 6000k or 8000k bulb unless you like blue lights.

Re: d2s bulbs

why are you using a bulb that wasnt designed for our car. you going to have glare issues.

D2S bulbs are only meant for projectors . At least be considered to others.

Re: d2s bulbs

from what i know about hids, if all your going to do is change the bulb to the 8000k bulb, it will be dark as hell because the ballasts aren't designed or arent big enough to give off a charge strong enough to fully power the 8000k bulb. It will give off a bluish color. On the other hand, if you buy an entire 8000k hid kit, the ballasts will give sufficient charge and therefore will make the 8000k's brighter. If anything, 6000k's are the way to go.

Re: d2s bulbs

8000K has nothing to do with the brightness. You're thinking of lumens. The ballasts are all the same, unless you get 50W ones, but 99% of us use the same 35W ones.

4100K bulbs are the brightest with about 3400 lumens, 6000K drops to about 2700 lumens, I don't know where 8000K will go down to.

I now have 4100K D2S on one projector and 7500K D2S on the other. The 7500K has a cool color, but the 4100K is definitely brighter.

BTW, Coldfusion, I sent you a reply. Let me know if you have trouble seeing the pics.
