^ Which cars are in the class of the G35sedan and are faster?
Only one that comes to mind is the IS350 and its not THAT much faster and to buy the platform that is faster it cost around 7-8k more then a G35sedan would cost. This is the newer model of the IS also, as the 08 G35coupe has not been released but will be faster then the IS350.

Please do not say the 335i is in the same class...because its not

you idiot. you're comparing apples and oranges. The new coupe will be much faster than the sedan and should be faster than the stupid bimmer. Everyone knows this. How close the new G coupe and the IS and the 335i will be more than likely a matter of opinion. We can definitely say that nissan has not messed up because frankly no bimmer sedan in the three series can keep up with the new infiniti sedan. We point blank don't know the whole story of he new coupe so none of us can jump to any foregone conclusions.

^^ Would not call the 335i a "stupid bimmer" its a mechanical work of art as for the engine! but the exterior is ugly as hell and i would never pay that kind of money for a car like that.

First of all the 335i sedan is in the same class as the G35 sedan, and the 335i coupe is in the same class as the-soon-to-be release G35 coupe. The quarter miles times are as follows: 335i is 13.2, IS350 13.4, the G35 sedan is 13.9. Please allow for a +/- of .01 as each magazine tests in different environments. As you can see the new 335i SEDAN is the fastest member of this class. This is not considering the amazing potential of mod-ing the crap out of the 335i's twin turbo engine. There was a thread about chipping the 335i coupe not too long ago (linkies below). The article demonstrated that any 335i owner with $1,300 can get a simple software mod to the BMW and instantly get a cool 60hp as well as a significant addition to torque. More aggressive mods will follow and the Beemer will surely break into the 12 sec mark without any changes to the turbo or engine internal; probably just increasing the boost in both turbos. BMW really pulled out all the stops with the 335i, and made the king of the hill. Judging from what Infiniti has done in the past we can reasonably expect that the coupe will get the same engine with maybe a tune in hp production for the 6mt model. With the tune we can expect the engineers to convert torque to hp as they did with the current “Rev-up” motor. This is more of about configuring the engine to the 6mt transmission and more aggressive ratio in the rear different than it is an actual raw engine power. This is not to say that the G35 sedans or coupes are bad choices. In my opinion the G35 cars are the best value for the money. This is the empirical reason that you see so many G35s on the road. In short, G-cars will be another success story for Nissan (extremely profitable), but just not the performance benchmark in class.

Who really cares. I bought my G for styling and comfort (and maybe throw a turbo on for speed when the warranty expires). If I really want to compare how fast my car is stock to another car then I woulda gotten another Subaru STI.

BMW's are all over priced. Nice cars but EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. You buy yourself a 2007 G vs. a BMW 335, take the money left over do some work, THEN whose faster?

I dont know where you're getting your info or what crack-head gave it to you, but the 335i does not do a 1/4 mile in 13.2 seconds and the IS350 definately not at 13.4

The best times ive seen for a 335i is 13.5, IS350 at 13.6, and the 07 G35 at 13.7.

The IS350 and G35 are very similar in performance, but the 335i should be able to take both the 07 Sedan and IS350 most of the times.

Seriously, never seen a 335i run a 13.2 or an IS350 run a 13.4 STOCK with no mods.
