the only thing I'm jealous about is that they have one mod for $1500 that boosts their wheel horsepower by 61.

We have NOTHING that even comes close to that. I mean, MREV, spacer, high flow cats and headers equal roughly $1500 and will only get you maybe 25-30 hp more at the wheel.

Oh, the fact that they can get this in a convertible now, man, that's pretty damn sweet.

And for those of you that keep knocking BMW, don't forget about all the scheduled maintenance and stuff that's covered for the first 3-4 years. For those of you that have had your car for a while, you KNOW that adds up.

+1 for stock turbo equiped cars.

my previous car was an 86 t-type, a 13sec slug (on borrowed drag radials). I think I spent less than $1k in mods (mostly used perf. parts), and averaged in the mid 11s. the contributors to the car's new found power were a boost controller, larger injectors, afpr, fuel pump, higher stall converter, shift kit, and a custom chip setting that lets me choose between street app and race app. gosh i miss that car.

how about since it is a forum, we talk about whatever interests us? i'm so tired of people getting angry for comparing our cars to others..its almost as if people are jealous that...GASP our G's might not be the best out there.

its really simple..if you dont want to read about the 335, dont click open the damn thread and read else where. we can discuss whatever the hell we want to discuss...not attacking you...just as i stated before, this line of thinking that the G is the best thing to ever be made on earth..love the car but still, i can admit when there is a better or comparable car to the G.
end rant

I'm beginning to realize that.
i came to my G from a VR6 GTI. we used to have to go to all sorts of extents to get extra HP out of those things. Then VW released the 1.8T, those guys were putting 250-300hp to the WHEELS real easy.

My girlfriend drives a C230 Kompressor. I bought her an overdrive pulley for her supercharger, the thing is like a whole new car now. I don't have any dyno numbers for it, but before the pulley you couldn't even get a squeak out of the tires when you floored it, now, you get a decent amount of wheel spin (it's an auto).

And for you other guys that are complaining about this being an Infiniti forum, don't read the threads that reference other cars.

this is an open forum, ppl can talk / discuss things as they wish, we all love our cars, but we like to see whats new in our "class" BMW being boring is just a matter of opinion, I think the M series as well as this new 335i (hardtop conv. on the way btw) are pretty hot. Everyones entitled to their own opinion though..

No one said the G is the best, and in fact comparing to other cars it isn't that great. I don't think anyone here would protest to the thought that the G is all that great. I mearly seconded an opinion that someone already had written here. Don't get bent out of shape just because you have a hard on for the stupid bimmer. The bimmer has been talked about over an over on this forum and yes it has sooooo much potential, probably more (at least easier attainable) potential then the G will ever have. Stop reading too much into these statements here. No one was attacking you or your opinions. It was just a thought, that I seconded.

There isn't going to be a 335i convertable last I heard, so I think you are way off there. Read the other threads on this forum, no one really likes the look and we all have said how boring it looks. And of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion and none of us have all the answers here, so stating this is really quite obvious and unneccessary. Thanks captain obvious.

naww man, I just went to bmwusa.com and they have it on their website, its not out just yet, but they have a whole side presentation on it. Maybe you should look harder before you make a comment like that :P I wasn't attacking anyone, not everyone here thinks the 335 look boring, again everyone is entitled to their own opinion... but the convertible is official, its a hardtop conv., looks nice!! i hope the next G takes this into consideration...
