possibly....but wasn't the new 350Z just released with a 311 hp 3.7 liter V6? Wouldn't Nissan use the same engine for the skyline like last time? Secondly would it be a G37 not a 35 if they use a 3.7 liter engine, and why wasn't the new 350Z called the 370Z? lol.

honestly dont think so. (inserting long tiraid here) early on there was a very heated debate on who would get the next skyline (infiniti or nissan)... well Nissan won. imo at this moment infiniti is saying well then gimme a bone, we're supposed to be an improved nissan product line. Please note the G's were always compared in performance with SL500's ,bmw M3, Lexus IS350. While infiniti may not have won much , this is what they were competing against. imo infiniti will release a car that can compete with the 335i. The question is , can they get the same numbers (or better) then the 335i with a G37 or G35T and still be 10%-15% under their Price tag.

Infiniti and possibly Nissan is trying to get away from the G35 nomenclature. yes, id expect them to call it a 370z G37,etc.

ppp

The production version will be shown at the New York Auto Show in April. I have heard that it is coming in June of this year. Can't wait!

i was talkin to my general manager yesterday who is actually a very reliable source...so far since workin for nissan/infiniti all the "rumors" that i asked if were true about upcoming cars to be released he told me if they were true or false and was rite everytime...i asked him if this rumor of the g37 thing is true for the coupe and his answer was yes the coupe will have a bigger motor and it going to have 350 hp. I was a little shocked and i dont know if he was bustin my chops cuz he knows how muchi love the car...but he sounded pretty damn serious.

well they didn't call the new z a 370Z. bumz lol. Who knows what they'll put in the thing, but they are taking the damn time releasing it to us. Bastards. How can you not follow the 350Z. Our car is the 350Z 2+2 and pretty much any performance part that works for the Z will work for our car, with minor adjustments if need be. We are family, where's the luv?

doubtfull. 350 hp out of an already tuned 3.5 V6 which has been stroaked to 3.7 liters for the new Z putting out only 311 hp? I wish but I doubt it.

Speaking to this point - I think Infiniti will probably just call it the G coupe - the new sedan is being advertised as just the G. Nissan will probably shorten the 350Z to just the Nissan Z. I don't know how much sense it would make to change the name to the G37 or 370Z - if your talking about consistency with regards to nomenclature.

well the new z is still only a 3.5 its not a 3.7...the questions with the z being different is what has me skeptical is well...but he told that the z will see its big change in 08 and thats where it will see its 3.7 engine with 350 hp. The current engine in the 07 z is just the engine from the 07 sedan with the twin intake design. still a 3.5

I'm wrong once again. I wonder where I saw the Z was getting a 3.7? Hmmm, weird.

^+

The guys on working the floor are always the last to know, and the first to provide speculation.

The rights to the G37 name have been secured, but there is no solid evidence yet that this will actually happen.

yea i know its not 100% solid truth yet...but like i said so far everything else ive been todl was true...like altima coupe over a year ago, and that the 07 maxima will only come with cvt. i remember on the maxima forum everyone was tryin to say it was bs when i said the 07 maxima was going to come with cvt...;D.

its common sense insiders will always know more then the general public will...the owner of my store (who is my cousin) and the gm are not only running nissan and infinit stores, but we also have the #4 nissan store in the whole country, and number #9 infiniti store. The nissan store was on its way to bankruptcy 4 years ago when my cousin bought and the infiniti store was #72 in the country just a year ago rite before he bought.

these people have great reps with nissan...trust me.
