edit: found it... I recommend going for the 229 painting, no reason to spend more money then the job is worth ! and when they say euro paint they mean house paint ! Ask them which brand and suggest American standard high gloss !

If you want to do it properly you need to take the engine out, interior, glass everything and then you can do a true color change. From my experience it was alot of work and kind of a pain in the ***. If you have the money and the time go for it, otherwise don't bother.

 

yes i work at a shop and we do it like he said, remove everything from glass to mouldings so there not paint line, its much btr this way, u can always leave ur engine bay the same color is u can to cut cost but i would do the door jams if u chng color

also matters if u do a 2 stage or 3 stage paint, and its not cheap, ur looking around 4000 +

 

cost $4700 for paint and labor, OEM color for me. (insurance paid for it)
