Help needed on S Tech installation: cutting bump stops

For those of you with S Techs, what is the deal with cutting the bump stops that the directions indicate?

Did you, do you need to?

It looks like this is for the front only, correct?

Bump stops.............

There asking you to do this so your car won't bottom out as quickly. Remember you can always remove more so take a little off to begin with
drive your car to see if more is "Needed!" Enjoy!!
