Also, snow tires, no matter how good they are, don't seem to work too well in heavy snow especially in rwd. Chains are better but i'm afraid they'll break and ruin my paint and underbody.

well...lets put it this way...

here is a picture of my G35x's motor bay

and here is a picture of a RWD Sedans motor bay

see something different??

yea----theres a **** load more wires! check out that second wire loom ontop of the timing case. I would imagine this is only the tip of the iceberg concerning an AWD conversion

Too funny. I'm the same way. I started out here a lot and finally dragged myself away after seeing so many juvenile and inacurate threads.

I was thinking that someone was saying that the G35X uses the same system as the last GT-R, which it doesn't, it uses a variation on the outdated R32 drivetrain.

Sorry for the confusion.

I too have been looking into this. From a structural stand point, the frame rail on both the coupe and sedan are identical, as well as the mounting points. I suspect the main issues will be the wiring, computers, and actual front suspension. The best way I can think of is get a wrecked (hit in the rear) G35X of the same year as your coupe and start from there.

The best way to convert is to sell the G and buy a BMW 330ix

Hey guys just found this page... the second wire loom is an extended power wire that goes to the starter (starter is located in the other side of trany and motor. the mounting points on the g35 and 350z compared to the g35 x are completely different. u have to cut them all off and weld all the g35x brackets on. and also the frame it self is the same but were the rear transfer case is on the trans wall (passenger side is a bit different and needs to be modified.
