I'm picking up my car tomorrow afternoon.
I wanna know how the best way to break in the engine is.
The dealer guy said 1200 miles drive it but don't kill it or baby it and don't stay at a constant speed for more than 2 hours.

Any other tips?

Re: Breaking the Engine in???
There is a post in the DIY that covers one of the more popular methods of break-in. The truth, however, is that nobody knows what a proper break-in is for modern engines, or even if such a thing exists, since there isn't a significant amount of data collected to date on modern cars under varied but controlled break-in procedures.

Some say do what the dealer says (since they have to honor the warranty), some say drive it like you stole it from day one, and some say go easy at first, then drive it harder than usual near the end of the break-in.

The only thing we really know is that nobody really knows.
