Sorry to hear about that.

I agree with these guys, paint part of it to cover up the crack and leave it on.

I would never buy those hoods for that reason. For an everyday carbon fiber is the look but they are made so thin that they break, crack, spiderweb. I have seen two people crash with cf hoods with hood pins the hood cracked around the pins and flew up on the highway

is it possible to paint a cf hood and still have the weave show? like can you kinda tint it a certain color?

i guess i should be glad its just the clear coat thats cracked and not the structure tho.

i really like the whole cf hood look, but i might have to jus get it painted, cuz i didn't real get the hood because its lighter which i might add it didn't feel that much lighter than stock, but anyways im still deciding what to do.
They are around the same weight as stock. Maybe 1-2 lbs lighter. The vents are the main function of the hood. Your UTH temps should drop considerably. I can see the heat coming from my Seibon vented hood on a chilly day at the track.

I know this is a few months old but what did you end up doing? My hood was cracked this weekend and I was hoping that I can get it fixed.

They are not even much lighter because our hoods are AL.

The resin can be damaged if you are not careful. In my case someone pushed down to hard trying to latch it.

Was it just the resin that cracked or the actual fibers? If it was just the resin someone skiled with CF work should be able to do a pretty good repair. I would go that route, have it reinforced on the bottom, and then have it painted so it shows some CF but not all.
