30k mile service question ...

Sup guys i know there's a recent 30k mile service thread rollin' around but bear with me...I just took my car to get an oil change at my local mechanic and i turns out he just hired a new guy that worked for a year at Kings Infiniti(where i take my car to get serviced)...he tells me behind the scenes the **** is crazy, they don't do half of the things they tell you they do, for the 30K mile service he tells me they spend a little over 100$ but charge around 480$. They dont flush out the tranny fluild n wat not.. just empty it out and replace it the tranny fluid..I just wanted to ask if lets say i dont get the 30K mile service done thru the stealership and get it done on my own somwhere else..will it void my warranty?? is there anything i can do...i cant live with forkin over so much money and knowing im gonna be gettin jerked and my car wont even be taken care off...

again this is jus what the guy told me, he sounded like a straight up guy so i chose to believe him..but again i cant prove it..its word of mouth..but he did work there..

sorry for long post.. lol

all you need to do is an oil change, trans service, diff service, radiator flush/refill, and an incabin filter swap

Where was this thread 3 weeks ago. I just spent 600 dollars to get my 30k service and my car still runs the same. I thought it would make a difference. But car runs the same. And now my engine light is on. What the he*l. I feel so ripped off..

It won't void your warranty if you have the receipts to show that you did the necessary tune-ups.

Not sure why it's so expensive w/ the dealership... maybe because they call it a "MAJOR" tune-up.

Another Stealership story...........

After picking up parts one afternoon from my Infiniti dealership I asked the
service manager what they charge for tranny service........$300. So I drive
over to the next block where a Nissan dealership is located and asked them
and he says $125. This now has my attention so a week later I return to
Infiniti and ask what the diffrence in price is. He tells me they use better
products than Nissan.....but both use Nissan J trans fluid....and they wonder
why we refer to them as Stealerships!

the tranny if its auto has to be serviced by the dealer... the auto tranny uses a special transmission fluid only made by Nissan... im not sure if u can order it from the dealer or not but i know its what it has to take... Go to Nissan and have them service it, they use the same products and its not nearly as expensive

You can buy the fluid from Nissan. I talked to Infiniti about this and just kept my receipts from my tranny and diff change. As long as you use the correct spec fluids they can't void your warranty.

Then again if you can get a 30k service for $125 it's worth it.

Charges will fluctuate even between Infiniti Dealers. I have found my Dealer to be just a little on the high side when compared to independents, but the premium is worth it since they do outstanding work.

Sup guys i know there's a recent 30k mile service thread rollin' around but bear with me...I just took my car to get an oil change at my local mechanic and i turns out he just hired a new guy that worked for a year at Kings Infiniti(where i take my car to get serviced)...he tells me behind the scenes the **** is crazy,

So this guy who now works at an independent shop and no doubt took a big pay cut to do so, bad mouths his old employer. Why was this guy fired? Maybe the Dealer let him go because he was doing the very things that he told you about. There aren't many fired employees who have anything nice to say about their old employers.

My advice to everyone is to develop a good relationship with your Dealer, and they will take care of you. I routinely get a 10% discount on all parts and service, and my warranty claims are handled without question despite my mods. I'm certain that if the only time they saw me was when I wanted warranty work done, they wouldn't treat me nearly as well as they do now.
