Drag Tires?

I have a set of OEM 18's sitting in the garage begging for drag tires to be mounted. I looked at the sizing on the BFGoodrich and Nitto sites, but I don't really see a size that is even close to fitting. Any suggestions?

thanks

Re: Drag Tires?

ummm well if i were u i would sell the 18s in favor of buying a super light weight 17 inch rim. u will find it much easyer to get a drag redieal in 17s then 18s. Plus a tire with a higher side wall will give u a better lounch. i dont know why but it was talked about befor and some one mentioned that. You can get a good amount of money for the 18s so u should be able to buy some nice 17s. good luck.

Re: Drag Tires?

Go for bf goodrich drag radials. A guy I know with a Turbo Supra said to get those, he said the nittos(what he has on now) are terrible.

Re: Drag Tires?

I have the BFGs in 265/40/18 on my factory 18s. They hook pretty well on the track but are GREAT on the street!

ZEX wet kit 140 WHP
ZEX remote opener, bottle heater
Denso iridium 2 steps
Z tube, Amsoil filter
Spec Stage 2 clutch
JIC-Magic traction rods
BFG Drag Radials 265/40/18
12.85 @ 108.5

Re: Drag Tires?

Thanks Juice,

That would be my cheapest route.
I know all tracks are different, but what rpm (neighborhood) are you able to launch at?
Any problem with VDC?

Thanks

Re: Drag Tires?

I turn the VDC off; I have not driven the car in the rain or with VDC on with these tires.

I was launching at ~2k -2.5k on the BFGs with traction rods and camber modifications to the rear. With the recent removal of my sway bars and the addition of the new clutch, 3k is possible on the street. The key is in how you slip the clutch; you need to get it just right.

ZEX remote opener, bottle heater
Denso iridium 2 steps
Z tube, Amsoil filter
Spec Stage 2 clutch
JIC-Magic traction rods
