**Brakes overheat**(Things to do and not to do)

I'm taking my car to the dealer today for an Oil change and head light problems (my HID on the passenger side burned out again, Last time it was the whole power module they replaced we'll see what will happen today) And also I got vibration in my brakes again, so I'll ask them to turn my rotors again

So the problem is that I'm overheating my brakes and get vibration from it.
What to do in order to stop it from happening?
I already tried "Not using brakes at all" not the safest rout to go, believe me!

So here is the deal.
I like to drive fast (70-80-90 occasionally 120-140)
I live in WA so we have lots of hills in this area. And every time I come down hill on the freeway I have to use brakes to slow down. Most of the time I do "press and release" instead of just holding it down till they melt .
I tried a few times to use the trany...........Down shift to the lower gear and slow it down that way. My car is 05 Coupe and it's Auto. I'm not sure if it does anything negative to the transmission or it's components.
I'm wondering if by upgrading to a better rotors will stop this from happening?
Maybe if I'll get something that cools faster it will not happed so often.
I just had them turned by dealer a few months ago (for free got to love the warranty)

So any suggestions from ya all?

Driver slower and don't slam on your BRAKES. I don't think that under normal driving your brakes would do this. you could upgrade to a bbk get drilled/slotted rotors and new pads.

Get some slotted or drilled rotors... also look into some nice pads. I'm assuming you're on a budget. If you have the money, get a BBK.

I've managed to make my brakes smoke pretty easily actually, and the stopping power definetly worsens!

Speed........your kidding right?

I was in Washington for a couple weeks this last August and I didn't see
anywhere you could safely drive at the speeds you quoted.....your kidding
right? The way you drive has a lot to do with how your car reacts........
and "that" is a big deal! haha The stealership may not be able to turn your
discs again since you had it done previously. One of the major contributeing
factors in disc warpage is the monkeys using impact guns to install your
wheels! Have them install your wheels with a torq wrench, this could solve
your issues with warped discs......worked for me.

if your getting vibration, your rotors may be warped

They are deff not warped
When I had them turned it was smooth as silk
And then slowly got the vibration out once same spots got overheated and became wider then the rest of the rotor.

nah dude.......they are in good shape.
Still got some Charcoal on them (plenty actually)

Guys I'm not some kinda crazy maniac.
I drive semi fast and this causes me to brake somewhat hard.

My pads are in good condition, I don't have smoke coming from my rotors all the time. They just get over heated and start vibrating.
So I'm asking you for some braking advices.
Stop trying to lecture everyone and just give me some professional advice (if you got any)
Money is not the issue for me, but I don't wan to replace my breaks yet (cuz original pads are still ok and prolly will last me for another 20k or so)
In the future I will upgrade to better brakes and I'm concerned that they will overheat as well. So I'm asking you guys for some braking advices so It will prevent me from damaging my car, my brakes.

Thank you.

What year (and AT or MT) is your G? (so we have a better idea of what your stock brakes are).
Also, how many miles are on your current rotors and pads?

he already said all of that 05 AT exc..

Sounds like you brake real hard. I dive fast as well and dont melt
the brakes. Maybe pick your spots and down shift will help as well.

I have sections of road that I like to hit triple digits but I also
have spots to go faster. I rarely have to be hard on the brakes

I'll bet what you are getting is "pad transfer". When your brakes get hot and you come to a complete stop, you can transfer some of the pad to the rotor. It seems like they are warped, but there not. StopTech did a "white paper" on this at their website.

Whatever you do do not get drilled rotors, all drilled is, is for looks. You want slotted with angeled fins inside the rotor helps release the heat. I was going to get some drilled rotors but my brake guy said they are for looks, and i believe him because he works with willwood and knows his stuff
