Push start/off button
i saw an old thread where someone installed a push start/off button on an '03-'05... he puts his key in the ignition nd press the button to start the engine
nd just curiousity.. i have an '06 with intelligent key.. if i install the push start/off button.. do i have to put my key in the ignition or just leave it in my pocket nd press start??
i think that'll be cool

I put one in my cobra, but that also needs the key turned to the on position. The only wires it needs should be power, ignition, and ground. You would need to find a wiring diagram or ask someone familiar with the wiring if this ties into it to prevent theft or tampering.

if u read carefully, i have a intelligent key where i could just leave it in my pocket and just start the engine...
and how is the push start button ricey?
newer model cars come standard with it now. i think it looks luxurious IMO
imo, as long as you can jsut leave the key in your pocket, and still start the car... well thats the ****. but if you DO have have the key in the ignition, that would be a waste of time.

I believe you have to have the key in and turn to the "RUN" position in order to unlock the steering wheel and also the transmission shifter if you have an automatic. If you have to go through all that, what's the sense of having a starter button. You will be regressing to pre-1950 car.
