Dealer and Computer Upgrade

I am getting a computer upgrade from jet performance. I was wondering if the dealer can find out that the computer was messed with. If they hook up there scanner to the computer will it read just as well as it did before i up graded it. Put your info here before i go on doing this

Foremost, both Jet and TSU do the SAME exact thing to the software side of your computer. By taping into and recurving the fuel / spark and air ratio (this is done by extending and or adjusting the pulse width of the injectors as well as "ripping" the spark curve (timing)) they're able to squeze a few more ponies out of the engine. Now this is pretty much all a hit or miss type of tunning. It all comes down to who has spent more time behind the dyno for each specific application, as it takes quite a few trial runs to get it done right. The obvious (lets bump all the stock specs up) is often not the way to go, as most cars run too rich on the top end as it is. Lastly, regardless of who is the tuner, there's only SO MUCH improvement you can gain from such a mod, as everything that's OEM under the hood such as the injectors and ignition system and so on, have their limits, and you can not exceed these limits, so ALL THESE aftermarket computer tuners will pretty much yield you the SAME power increase give or take a fraction of a HP.

As for your question, can Infiniti tell, well yes and no. Fisrt off, when anyone retunes your computer, they have the option to leave a tag to state who they are and what they did. Some will do that, to pretty much "mark their work" sort of a calling card to others and or a copyright warning, but others don't - as to not let anyone your computer has been tampered with. But on the flip side, if Infiniti has any doubts and thinks your computer has been tampered with, they can do a number of tests to figure it out, and it has NOTHING to do with checking the computer itself, buy rtaher checking out the injectors and or the timing specs via their handheld devices they have in the shop. Seeing that the injecters are working under different parameters, they'll be able to tell that your compurter has been modified, then they may even see it being a problem, and they may in fact reflash the computer back to stock specs for you, and there goes all your $$$ you spent on that mod...

Most tuners will be happy to reflash the computer again for you if that happens, but some will charge you for another "burn"....

I forgot to add, if that happens "your computer is reflashed back to stock" will they (JET, TSU, and so on) retune it for you for FREE or will they charge ya again! You may want to ask that questions, and honestly I would go with the company that will do it for free each and every time....
