Brand new 07 g35 coupe
I dont know if anyone here notice it but
there are 2 types of horsepower rating (im stupid about it but i know)
the new way the measure horsepower that company uses actaully makes the HP lower than the previous method they use
like the 2005 Acura RL sedan was rated at 300 and when the new hp method came, it was only 285
Our G coupe is based on the old one its 298, the new G is 306 according to the new method, i believe the gain is much more than 8 HP..tats how the new one is much faster with beter gearing and higher redline
thats why i'ld say dont get the 2007.....dont flame on me if u guys dont agree, it smy opinion

You can wait on the 08, or better yet wait on the 2012! My point is there will always be a newer revised version of whatever you buy. The 08 will probably have its problems and complaints being that it will be the first year of the new model. If you are planning on just leasing it, then yeah wait. But if you're planning on modding it then get the 07. You have to start somewhere, and the VQ is a great powerplant.

Why get screwed... Wait a month until the 08 comes out, and if you don't think the 08 is worth it, you can still get a nice new 07 - with a killer markdown because it is now outdated. Win - Win.

The new sedan already run 13.9 according to C&D
the previous sedan and our coupe goes 14.6 base on C&D
so yeah....i just tell everyone tat will buy that 2007 coupe, not worth the money, when the coupe comes out u'll say - why didnt i wait.

i'd wait it out for the 08 coupe. when it's released the older body styles will take a price hit and if you for some odd reason don't like the 08 coupe, you can take an 07 or lower and take advantage of a better price.
Isnt the 08 supposed to push somewhere around 360HP. And, isn't there talk about a turbo model coming out after. I called my dealer today and he had very very limited info. The car is supposed to be at the car show in NY in March or April. I could be wrong about what I said, but that is what I heard from him. He also said that it might be coming in a 3.7 or a 4.2L

that's all made up junk. the gt-r is the turbo, there has been absolutely zero talk from nissan/infiniti to release a g/z with turbo. they have mentioned the new 3.7 motor though. and i doubt they are going to jump from 298 to 360. that's a huge jump in hp for an NA car only jumping up .2 in displacement

Actually there was a 350z single turbo done by nissan japan to test the car but nothing materialized.
A few things...
First, I just leased a new '07... LOVE the car. I think with the new model coming out, the short lease program Infiniti is running is fantastic for a few reasons.
For one, you can get a really good buy on a great car.
Second, you have the option to extend the lease a year if when the '08 comes out you decide that
(1) The changes are not sufficient enough to warrant you paying from the start and you can wait a year
(2) Often the first year of a new car has kinks to work out, and you may prefer to wait for the '09 or at least to see how the '08 really works
(3) At this point, the '08 shouldnt be out until at least late summer, and possibly the fall. That gets you 1/3-1/2 way through the initial 15 month part of the lease
(4) Many times a new car comes out with a bunch of hype, and may indeed be "better" than the current design. HOWEVER, it is likely that an '08 1/2 or an '09 may have options that make the car not just "better" than the current model, but MUCH better (a special sports package, even higher horsepower, a host of other possibilities).
SOOOO.... if you end up leasing, you can have the car NOW, you can then choose to upgrade soon after the '08 comes out, or you have the flexibility to wait an additional year. You dont have to worry about depreciation or lost cost because it will be an older body style because you are leasing the car. Plus, you can drive it like you stole it and turn it in without worrying about "down the line" issues outside of resale value.
That is my recommendation, and exactly what I did.
