Upgading spark plugs
While the differences may not be much, I was looking to swap out stock spark plugs w/ NGK iridiums. Anyone know how many sparkplugs I will need (I assume 6 correct).
Any know of any disadvantage of swapping out stock (platimum sparks) for iridiums? I was looking at the nismo branded ones ordered from japanparts.com, but they are just the NGK iridiums, correct?
In case anyone hasn't notice the new g35 sedans now come with iridium spark plugs, along w/ the dual intakes and less restrictive exhaust.
Thx for the Input!

yea, I realize I would not notice any substantial improvement, even with a slightly colder plug. But, I just figured w/ a couple of breathing mod's maybe a colder plug would help? I also found it interesting that the new g35 is using iridium spark plugs as opposed to the platinum ones that are on our current G's--Since Nissan is now using iridium sparkplugs for their new G's, why not swap them out for my year? But if the cost and time involved in doing so is not worth the result, then I may just drop it.
6 NGK Iridiums cost me 54 dollars at my local NAPA this week.
Here's a DIY I'm working on....

Awesome DIY! Very well put together.
Do you think it's worth indexing the plugs? I did this in my GSX.

If you put one step colder plugs in a na motor, you WILL lose alot of performance. If you want to use Iridiums (waste of $ to me), fine. but use the correct heat range.

Correct.
Here's an example on my other car. I did the switch as mentioned above
(platimum sparks) for iridiums)
No gains whats so ever (this is with scans from my LS1).
The next time I just used OEM's and saved my money for something else.
And yes, you should index the plugs.

......and don't forget to use a little anti-seize on the threads when the new ones go in.
They go in potentially for years and can be very difficult and even ruin heads on removal.
