need some help, new g35 owner

Hi there,

Well I have been looking at this forum for the last couple days and see that all of you are a great sorrce of information.

I just bought a used G35 2004, a couple days ago and I am in love with it.

It runs great and handles even better.

I am currently starting to look at MODS for the vehicle, and because I bought the vehicle used from a Accura dealer, they did not have the spec books in the vehicle. The orignal owner of the vehicle never gave it over.

So first question, other then the dealer and ebay, does any one know where to down load or find the specs on the vehicle online?

Second question, my G35 is a 6 speed manual drive, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what type of engine modle it is and the horse power output?

Last and Final question and the biggest one I am looking at, Turbo or Supercharger? And, Which one is better, Stillen, Greedy, Turbotronics, or Vortech?

Thanks fo the great post and ideas I got from this forum, hope you all can help an island boy stuck in Hawaii.

Thanks

D

Since you are new, I will try to save you from the barage of "search first" flames, but here goes:

I am a bit surprised you bought a car you didn't know the specs to (not even the hp). Anyway, here they are:
http://www.edmunds.com/used/2004/inf...764/specs.html
(though I have seen varying curb weights on different sites)

The turbo v. blower debate has been raging for decades. And, technically, it should be turbo (Greddy, et. al.) v. centrifugal supercharger (Vortech) v. roots supercharger (Stillen).

In short, the turbo would most likely give the most power, though it has some lag (depending on turbo) and needs RPMs to get up to power; the centrifugal blower slowly builds hp with RPM (better low-speed traction on street tires, though less of a kick); and the roots will make a lot more torque down low, though probably less hp.

As far as which one depends on how you will drive your car, and what RPM range you will spend most of your time in.

Either way, the tune is the most important thing. Get it done by someone who knows what they are doing.

Thanks for the great advice and the links to edmunds, I should of thought of that one.

I did do some research on the vehicle before purchasing, but one of the debates that a few of my friends and I had was the horse power out put between the manual and the automatic versions.

I saw on one web page that the Auto was around 240 where the manual was up in the 280's.

The specs I was looking for was for the headlights, pullies, intake and other tunner things.

Thanks to all for the information, look forward to more
