buddy's 05 coupe with a few mods, believeable?

I know a guy - not too well.

He has the following

popcharger/ztube
headers - not sure which one.
hks exhaust
5/16 spacer
mrev

He said he hits 13.8 consistently, on the 1/4 mile with these mods.

Does this sound right?

I know track, temp ect make a diff, but anyone else with simlair mods hit this?

Rphillips6487 Mar 28, 2007 07:36 AM

yes, that sounds right

Pabloescobar988 Mar 28, 2007 09:22 AM

My friend's stock 350z (stick) consistently hits 13.8's and 13.9's at the track so i would guess sounds about right

Jtrain Mar 28, 2007 09:58 AM

Looks juusttt fine to me

EZZ Mar 28, 2007 11:19 AM

Sounds about right. he could shave a few tenths off of that if he got it tuned with a chip.

jdmeg21 Mar 28, 2007 03:25 PM

would most likely run better if he got hfc's install since, the headers aren't doing much when the exhaust fumes get stuck in the stock cats.

woty woot, i got nismo cam shafts and injen cai and i hit 13.78 hehe at 104 mph sounds good to me also

BadBoy06 Mar 28, 2007 05:07 PM

yep, I can buy it

GreenGoblin Mar 28, 2007 09:19 PM

sounds good to me as well

MadMatt1144 Mar 28, 2007 09:37 PM

I believe the user NismoG posted slips of him hitting 13.8 or so in a 5AT with an intake, stillen td, spacer, and a tune. You're friend has an additional Mrev and a 6MT but without a tune so it sounds about right.

Rphillips6487 Mar 28, 2007 10:12 PM

just out of curiosity, why are you asking to begin with?

do you think hes lying or something?

BadBoy06 Mar 28, 2007 10:40 PM

^probably didn't think his mods would be sufficient

888 Mar 29, 2007 01:30 AM

I hear ppl always saying bolt on's dont do much..

and it's mostly sound and what not, and ect..

so i'm just curious as to what power these mods do, i'm going to do a simlair set up too

just no utec for me.

If you're interested in mods, and the effectiveness of mod combinations, spend some time in the tech area, the drag racing area, and over on my350z. I know with all my mods I only got about 20 to 25hp at peak, but a crapload of torque in the midrange. Here's my thread about my bolt-ons and tune: https://g35driver.com/forums/reviews/143552-final-numbers-revup-bolt-ons-utec.html
