I didn't see the program myself, but my father actually called me about The show Autoweek on the Speed Channel was doing a bit on the G35-C. Talked great about the car but mentioned a possible real problem with front tire premature wearing on the inside of the tires. This is also causing excessive road noise. Infiniti has supposedly acknowledged the problem and don't know yet if it is a recall type item in the future.
Anybody else catch the full story?

No, but if true I am confident Infinity will resolve.

I thought that only happens to 350Z.

Re: Autoweek - Bad News on Coupe
Yeah, that is what I thought too. I know that there have been alot of complaints about the Z and road noise and tirewear, but I hadn't heard anything at all about the G having a similar problem.

I haven't noticed any excessive tire wear or road noise yet and I have 16,000 miles on my coupe.

Re: Autoweek - Bad News on Coupe
I've heard this problem on the 350Z. I have not heard a thing on the G35 Coupe. If there is a problem, how come there are no posts about this on this forum or Fresh Alloy especially with all the cars with the higher miles?

Re: Autoweek - Bad News on Coupe
Autoweek mentioned the 350Z and the incorrect toe-in that had happened from the factory to a number of cars. No Infiniti was mentioned.

Re: Autoweek - Bad News on Coupe
From all that I've heard and read, this is NOT a G35 problem. Just 350Zs are subject to this issue. I don't know why "Gs" are not affected, but they are NOT.

I have noticed alot of road noise , but I thought it was from hitting a cueb and needing an alignment

Re: Autoweek - Bad News on Coupe
Hi

I also noticed a fair amount of road noise from the tires. However this is road surface dependent. I get about the same amount of road noise in my 89 Supra which also has wide 50 series tires. My oldest Supra, which is running on 70 series tires is much quieter. So, I guess the noise comes from a combination of wide tires with their larger contact patch and the reduced aspect ratio of a 45 series tire?

Re: Autoweek - Bad News on Coupe
if the road is wet, i definitely hear a lot of road noise, more so than most cars i've driven. dry, however, it's nothing new compared to any other car i've driven.

wet = noisy
dry = noise is non-existent.

Re: Autoweek - Bad News on Coupe
You will get road noise with all tires depending on the amount of tread you have left. I have 12,400 on the odometer and do have some road noise. I do not have premature wear on the front tires. Good thing it's just the 350Z

You know, I have noticed road noise too - but when I come to a stop, the noise stops! I guess everything is OK
