Smoke coming out from the passenger side?

Hi, as some of you guys know I've got the G35 coupe 6MT about 3 weeks ago. Today I thought I'd give a bath for my baby G. I start hosing down the car after a good 5-10 mins break. As soon as I hosing the passenger side I see white smoke coming out of it!!! So I turn off the water immediately, then I try to smell the smoke and it smells nothing but steam. I didn't drive it hard or anything on the way back from work. It never happened to my previous cars. well, I am guessing it's the brake disc? I just hope it's not the clutch. Anyone have any idea? thanks for any input.

Where were you directing the water when you noticed the white vapor/steam? My only guess at this point, is that it could have been the water contacting the cat(s) or some other exhaust component(s) underneath your car. I really trust that it wasn't your brake components.

cold water + some hot part of your car = steam

if u drove it right b4 u washed it.. u might have hosed the HOT calipers, therefore u get steam.. it's best to wait atleast 30 mins b4 u wash ur car after driving.. it's not good to quickly "cool" ur calipers/rotors...

i always let my car cool down for at least an hour before washing it. The g gets pretty damn hot, after you drive it you can feel the heat coming off it near the hood and wheels

Thanks for all of your replies. I was just worried because it never happened to my previous cars (GS300 and Accord V6).
