A nice guy at the gas station.

I went to a gas station today, to fill up my G, and had a very pleasant experience. The gas attendant asked me how much I paid for my beauty. I said, "Not as much as one might think". He smiled and took a guess - $50,000. I smiled and said that it was only $35,000. He kept complimenting how nice the car was, and that he really loved cars. He says he used to work on cars out in California (now in NJ), and that he used to own an X5. He gave me a little story from his past. He seemed like a very nice guy. Basically, he said he was screwed by a woman. He said he loved her, but she screwed him, and now he is working at a gas station making $5 an hour. Poor guy. We could have talked longer, but he had to go back to work. We wished each other luck, and I drove off.
There are two lessons here:
1) Don't take your current position in life for granted.
2) Don't ever trust a woman (sorry ladies).

Anyway, I thought I'd share this story with all.

I hate long posts and this one is borderline for me .

I gotta agree with ya, zorro...on the matter of how many peeps mistake the price tag of our rides. I was at a family gathering when a few of my cousin's friends were checking out my ride. My cousin walked up to me and said that his friends were wondering how much I paid for my ride....and just like you, I told 'em to take a guess. Their guesses were north of $60k!!! When I told how much I paid, their jaws nearly dropped.

I love this car!

Don't tell them what you paid, every one and his brother wants one of these cars!!! If they think it 60+ then good, they can go buy one.... "Keep it rare" maybe I can sell mine for 50k, wait.... I couldn't do that!!!!

I was complimented the other night at a traffic light about how awesome my car is. The guy then took a nice long look from the back of the car to the front and goes: "say, how much did you pay for this beauty?", I just seat and smiled, waiting for the guy to take a guess, when he decided to answer himself: "I'd say you paid 60k for it..."
I just smiled, the light turned green and I took off...

Re: A nice guy at the gas station.

It was an exxon station on route 1. I think it's the first gas station on the right hand side, going north, away from route 18. I am not sure if it's at the intersection of Old Post road. Might be some othe road though. It's right at the light, on the right hand side.

The styling of this car is off the hook. Everywhere I go people are always either looking at it or asking me questions. When I leave it at the parking garage near my job the parking attendant told me that people are always walking up to the car and checking it out. Its sorta still rare but definitely out there too. I dunno I mean I guess its sorta unique in some ways. The shape is like damn!! lol I mean look at what it does to the owners(lol we all are fascinated by this machine).

Re: A nice guy at the gas station.

He He, I have a guy around the corner from my Apt. at the 76 Station that does the same thing. I fill up there often since it's on the way to and from work. He always compliments my Red beauty when I pull up. He said it reminded him of when he got his Cherry Red 67' mustang. Real nice guy, I think he knows just about everything there is to know about my car from all the conversation while pumping gas, he he. Peace.
